For Individuals

You are the only one who knows when you are opening and when you are closing. You are the only one who knows when you are using things to protect yourself and keep your ego together and when you are opening and letting things fall apart, letting the world come as it is – working with it rather than struggling against it. You are the only one who knows.
— Pema Chodron

My Philosophy

It is my belief that we all have what we need to find our way. I also believe there are a million ways to travel. Without the proper connection to ourselves and the world around us life challenges can make the journey feel very difficult - if not impossible.

Every person’s map of the world is as unique as their thumbprint.
— Milton Erickson

Therapy is a place to slow down,  sit with your concerns and find ways to enlighten, ease, or guide your process. With the warmth, holding and helpfulness of a therapeutic relationship, you will work to listen more deeply to yourself and discover what you need. Part of my role is to guide and support a well-paced process that honors your own way of knowing while offering insight, tools, and processes that help you to deepen and expand your life's work. My focus is on establishing a safe environment through deep listening, feedback, authentic engagement, and special attention to your strengths. While I will utilize various core modalities throughout the therapy, I believe collaboration between a therapist and client is a cornerstone to achieving interpersonal transformation through therapy work.

RELATIONAL – In part, this means that our relationship is, in itself, a mechanism for healing and growth. This also has to do with how I will help you reach new understanding around your attachment history and family of origin dynamics and how that impacts you. Together, we will try new ways of relating in real time and I will support you in venturing into new ways of relating in your world.

MINDFUL – Staying present in the moment. I’ll support you in slowing down to notice more of what is happening in your thoughts, feelings and sensations. Often, with a more mindful observer, you can see more of what is happening and have more choice about how to maneuver.

SOMATIC – Especially in our disembodied culture, it can by easy to forget the body altogether. In our work, the body can lead or, at least, weigh in. Listening to what is happening in the body throughout the work can deepen your experience, be a place for experimentation, and solidify new ways of being.

TRANSPERSONAL – Matters of universe, the unconscious, spirit world, the cosmic, soul, and the existential.

SOCIAL JUSTICE – Together we'll notice how the impacts of systemic inequities may be present in your process. Where my social privilege is particularly relevant to our process, I name that and work with it intentionally.
